It’s billed as the “flavor mashup you didn’t know you wanted”: the new Chicago Dog Deep Dish pizza.

Lou Malnati’s, the popular deep-dish pizza brand in Chicago, has teamed up with Portillo’s, best-known for its Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches, to create the “super limited-time” specialty pie.

“We were inspired by Portillo’s iconic recipe and combined all the traditional Chicago Dog fixings on Lou’s legendary crust,” the pizza chain’s website states.

Beginning on Wednesday, July 16, the Chicago Dog Deep Dish will be available only at Lou Malnati’s 21 dine-in locations, although it can be ordered for delivery or carryout too.

It’s not the first “Crosstown Collab” between Lou Malnati’s and Portillo’s. In the summers of 2022, 2023 and 2024, the brands partnered on the Portillo’s x Lou Malnati’s Italian Beef Deep Dish Pizza. It featured ripened plum tomatoes, Wisconsin cheese and Portillo’s slow-roasted, thin-sliced beef, with the option to pair it with either Portillo’s homemade sweet peppers or hot giardiniera.

Like Lou Malnati’s, Portillo’s is a brand that’s synonymous with Chicago’s food scene. Dick Portillo started it in 1963 as a hot dog stand called The Dog House. Portillo’s now has more than 70 restaurants across nine states.
