NORWALK, CT MARCH 2, 2007 – Attendees at the 14th Annual International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York will have a chance to hear from Danny Meyer, President of one of the world’s most dynamic restaurant organizations, which includes 11 unique dining establishments, at a newly added keynote presentation that will take place on Monday, March 5th at 2:30 p.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.  
 
When Danny Meyer opened New York’s Union Square Café in 1985 he helped pioneer an exciting new breed of restaurant, pairing excellent food and wine with warm hospitality and outstanding value.  He went on to open some of NYC’s most beloved restaurants including Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Tabla, Blue Smoke, Jazz Standard, Shake Shack, The Modern, Cafe 2, Terrace 5 and Hudson Yards Catering.  Most recently, Danny released his bestselling book Setting the Table: The Transforming Power of Hospitality in Business.
 
Danny, his restaurants and chefs have earned an unprecedented 17 James Beard Awards. All five of Danny’s fine dining restaurants have earned three stars from The New York Times, and for the past decade, Union Square Cafe and Gramercy Tavern have vied for #1 and #2 among Zagat Survey’s Most Popular Restaurants in New York.  In addition to Setting the Table, Danny co-authored the Union Square Cafe Cookbook (HarperCollins, 1994) and Second Helpings from Union Square Cafe (HarperCollins, 2001) with his partner, Chef Michael Romano.
