A third location of D.L. Mack’s, a Chicago-inspired tavern known for its cracker-crust pizzas and classic American fare, will open in Uptown Dallas’ West Village on Wednesday, March 4.

D.L. Mack’s is part of Dallas-based Vandelay Companies’ restaurant portfolio. Vandelay has 10 restaurant concepts spanning 29 locations nationwide.

The new D.L. Mack’s store, which takes over the former Midici space on McKinney Avenue, will introduce several new menu items alongside signature favorites that have earned a loyal following, the company said.

The original D.L. Mack’s outpost in Dallas opened in University Park in 2021 and the second location in Preston Hollow in 2022. Designed to reflect the enduring appeal of a Midwest-style corner tavern, the concept’s new space features rich, nostalgic details.

“D.L. Mack’s is exactly the kind of neighborhood tavern I’ve always loved—the kind of place that feels familiar the second you walk in,” said Hunter Pond, founder, chairman and CEO of Vandelay Companies. “The response from our guests has confirmed what we believed from the start: Dallas connects with that timeless, Chicago-inspired nostalgia. West Village is a natural fit for us—it’s energetic, walkable and right in the heart of it all. Bringing our third D.L. Mack’s here is an exciting step, and we’ll keep growing the way we always have—thoughtfully and in a way that upholds the Vandelay standard.”

In addition to guest favorites, the West Village location introduces new dishes to the lineup. Highlights include the Chicago tavern-style cracker crust pizzas such as the Honey Truffle Chicken with white sauce, chili flakes and arugula; Return of the Mack, boasting sausage, giardiniera and sweet onions; and Spicy Vodka, with ZaZa sauce, basil and Chicago peppers.

Additional menu standouts are D.L. Mack’s Famous Chicken Tenders, Mozzarella Bites, Spicy Rigatoni, The Chopped McCarthy (chicken, bacon, beets, cheddar, egg and ranch dressing) and the Cheeseburger fully loaded with mustard and mayo.

New menu items include Jalapeño Queso Dip served chilled with chips; the Hickory Burger with cheddar, Canadian bacon, jalapeño, onion and hickory sauce; the Grilled Chicken Burger fully loaded with mustard and truffle aioli; and the Truffle Burger with gruyere, bacon, gorgonzola, onion, arugula and truffle aioli.

The beverage program pays homage to enduring American classics, featuring martinis and refined interpretations of staples such as the Old Fashioned, Margarita and Mule, among others. Signature cocktails include The Gimlet with gin and fresh lime; the Lemon Drop Martini with lemon vodka, fresh lemon and limoncello foam; the Southside with gin, fresh lime and muddled mint; the Spicy Mexican with tequila, jalapeño, cucumber and fresh lime; the Manhattan with Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey, vermouth and angostura bitters; and frozen cocktails including the Paloma with reposado tequila, fresh grapefruit, lime and agave, and the Peach Bellini with strong amounts of vodka and the signature Grand Marnier floater.

The 4,600-square-foot space is described as a thoughtful throwback to a retro Chicago-style pizzeria, featuring a nostalgic palette of off-white, black, maroon and kelly green. Pendant lighting blends new fixtures with found Tiffany-style pieces inspired by designs from the 1970s through the 1990s, adding authentic vintage character. Artwork showcases historic Chicago scenes and sports memorabilia from both emerging and established artists, layered with three-dimensional décor to create a dynamic gallery wall.
