Customers Enjoy Fresh Mozzarella Five Different Ways at Donatos Pizza

Leading the fresh mozzarella trend, Donatos introduces two new mozzarella pizzas, announces the return of two mozzarella pizzas and offers mozzarella as a topping option.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (October 23, 2007) – Donatos Pizza is giving its customers five different ways to enjoy fresh mozzarella with the introduction of two new mozzarella pizzas, the return of two limited-time mozzarella pizzas to its permanent menu and the addition of fresh mozzarella as a topping option. The Ohio-based pizza company is leading the trend toward using fresh mozzarella, as more consumers desire the distinctive, creamy taste of the Italian cheese.

“At Donatos, we are dedicated to using only the freshest ingredients, offering the highest quality products and satisfying our customers’ ever-changing palettes with new flavor combinations. By using fresh mozzarella Edge-to-Edge® on these new pizzas, we are keeping with this tradition,” said Donatos President and Chief Operating Officer Jane Grote Abell. “Customers who are hooked on their favorite flavor combination can also enjoy fresh mozzarella on any pizza as a topping choice.”

This month, Donatos introduces Pepperoni Zinger, featuring fresh mozzarella and a spicier spin on its customer-favored signature pepperoni. Also debuting this month is Chicken Spinach Mozzarella, which includes chicken, spinach and Roma tomatoes to create a hearty flavor. The pizzas feature:

Pepperoni Zinger
* Red sauce
* Pepperoni
* Fresh mozzarella
* Shredded provolone cheese
* “Zinger” spices

Chicken Spinach Mozzarella
* Dough that is lightly brushed with oil
* Premium chicken
* Roma tomatoes
* Fresh spinach
* Fresh mozzarella
* Roasted minced garlic
* Shredded provolone cheese
* Tuscan cheese blend

Introduced for a limited time in April, Donatos’ Margherita and Fresh Mozzarella Trio became instant customer favorites and will now join the company’s permanent menu of Edge-to-Edge® pizzas. The Margherita is Donatos’ premium take on the tomato, basil and mozzarella flavor combination, and the Fresh Mozzarella Trio brings the soft Italian cheese to the favored Donatos’ Classic Trio. The pizzas’ ingredients include:

Margherita
* Dough that is lightly brushed with oil
* Roma tomatoes
* Fresh mozzarella
* Shredded provolone cheese
* Tuscan cheese blend
* Basil

Fresh Mozzarella Trio

“Offering our customers fresh mozzarella is another way Donatos is showing its commitment to treating customers to a premium dining experience,” said Donatos Director of Product Development Janet Sprouse. “Our mozzarella is delivered fresh to preserve its soft and creamy texture, and slightly sweet, delicate flavor. It is also moister than other mozzarellas because it is made with cow’s milk rather than low-moisture, part-skim milk as used by other companies. The result is a delicious cheese that enhances the flavor combination of these pizzas and our customers’ dining experience.”

The fresh mozzarella pizzas are available in any size and at all area Donatos Pizza locations for dine-in, carry-out or delivery. Customers can also add fresh mozzarella to any Donatos pizza. In addition to its signature Edge-to-Edge® pizzas, Donatos offers Big & Meaty Buffalo Wings, Oven Baked Subs, Chicken Breast Strips, Garden Fresh Salads and Stromboli.
