Custom Fuel Pizza & Salads, where diners can design their own pizzas from a wide selection of specialty ingredients that range from the traditional to the artisanal, is now open in Dupont Circle. Already wildly successful in the neighborhoods of Foggy Bottom and Howard University, this is Custom Fuel’s third Washington, D.C. location and the second to open this year. The idea of customers creating their own pizza is the fastest growing quick service restaurant concept in the U.S.
The new Custom Fuel Dupont Circle location is a prototype eatery whose design will be implemented at all Custom Fuel locations moving forward. The new location boasts beautiful exposed brick, a mix of high and low tables, and is adorned with vintage gas station signs and license plates, which have come to be associated with Custom Fuel’s restaurants.
This new restaurant opening marks the beginning of an aggressive expansion plan for Custom Fuel, which plans to open an additional ten corporately-owned Custom Fuel locations across the East Coast in the next year. Custom Fuel also recently announced its entrance into the franchise market, and is offering single-store and multiple-unit development franchise opportunities with an emphasis on metropolitan areas.
