At the 2011 annual Pizza Pizzazz competition held in Columbus, Ohio contestants competed in two categories, gourmet and traditional. The winner of each category would not only win bragging rights, but would also receive a grand prize of $7,500.00. The competition is held annually at the North American Pizza and Ice Cream Show (NAPICS) in February.

The 75 competitors on each of two days baked first round pizzas and six finalists were chosen. Those six pizzas were prepared again and judged. Prizes were then awarded to the top three finishers of each category. Pizzas were baked in either a conveyor oven or a deck oven supplied by NAPICS. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the traditional category and the 1st and 2nd place winners of the gourmet category all baked their pizzas in the EDGE60 Conveyor Oven manufactured by MF&B Restaurant Systems, Inc. of Dunbar, PA. In an industry that has, in the past, set pizzas baked in deck ovens as the benchmark for quality, the EDGE conveyor oven is setting a new standard for quality of bake.
