“The contest was to consume the most of an extra-large, 16-inch Papa John’s cheese pizza. The challenge was to it in 10 minutes was the challenge. The reward? A year’s worth of free pizza, 24 in all,” according to the Farmington Daily Times.

As part of Freedom Day’s Party in the Park celebration, 12 men were accepted to the challenge.

Would-be contesants donated $5 to Blue Star Mothers of America organization each by buying a chance to participate. The actual challengers were drawn from the pool of those who gave.

Jason Taylor, 29, a contestant, said the contest was a “workout”.
