CCA Select FHC Expo to host Western Food Festival
 
SHANGHAI – 7th August 2007 – FHC China 2007, China’s leading international food & hospitality trade event, scheduled for the eleventh edition this November has been selected by the China Cuisine Association – CCA to host the 4th Western Food Festival -WFF.  The FHC China exhibition will showcase fresh & preserved foods, beverages, wines & spirits, bakery ingredients & equipment, confectionery, food service equipment and hospitality interiors from over 800 companies from 32 countries.  While the WFF will attract hotel and restaurant managers, chefs and food distributors from all over China for a series of competitions, an industry forum and training in the cooking of western foods.  The three-day exhibition and festival takes place from 14 to 16 November 2007 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), Pudong.
 
Yang Lou, Secretary General of CCA said “we have chosen FHC China 2007 to host the 4th Western Food Festival as this expo is the largest and most established international food fair in China.” She added “ the WFF will comprise The FHC International Culinary Arts Competition anticipated to attract over 350 chefs, including teams from different cities in China, competing for gold medals in 16 different competition classes and judged by a panel of famous international chefs. A Gala Dinner and industry Forum attracting Hotel and Restaurant managers reviewing best practices to meet the growing demand to offer international food dishes in their establishments. The large number of international groups at FHC China also makes it possible for us to organize International Culinary Classes over the 3 days of the exhibition. At these classes Chinese chefs can learn the skills and ingredients required for cooking a variety of national dishes in a series of 1 hour classes from specialist chefs from Spain, Italy, France and many more.”

Other complementary events at FHC China 2007 include the Gold Card Wine Days on 14th and 15th November.  This involves wine seminars and tastings from wine distributors in China seeking new partners to represent in China from the many exhibitors at the show and customers from the hospitality trade visitors attending FHC.  Italian Masters Kitchen, sponsored by De Cecco Pasta and their distributor in China, Goodwell will offer food samplings and lunch including the best of Italian pasta, cheese, Parma ham, pastries, wine and coffee. Feeding the growing market for chocolate, two new events at FHC China are Chocolate Workshops and Chocolate fashion show.  Barry Callebaut will organize professional training workshops where participants will learn how to make pralines and hollow figures. While DKSH (China) will organize a fashion show of “wearable chocolate”!  
 
“By combining a trade show of food, beverage and hospitality products with a series of industry events, competitions and seminars we can offer trade visitors from the hospitality and food distribution sectors a unique opportunity to meet a large number of product suppliers in Shanghai and learn how to use the different food and beverages. Food retailers need to know how to prepare and cook different international food so that they can teach their customers and they can do this at FHC ” said Mr. Jennings.
 
This year, FHC China will have 23 national / regional groups from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan Region, Thailand, UK, and USA.
