U.S. Pizza Team Succeeds in Wisconsin and Moves on to Italy

The U.S. Pizza Team Trials and American Pizza Championship, Spring 2011, hosted by PMQ Pizza Magazine at the Wisconsin Restaurant Expo March 21-23, proved successful for pizza chefs and spinners from across the country. U.S. Pizza Team coach Dave Smith II and team coordinator Holly Henning were elated to add four new members to the U.S. Pizza Team.

Pizza Makers and Dough Acrobats Duel It Out For A Place on the U.S. Pizza Team

PMQ will be hosting a series of U.S. Pizza Team trials at the Orlando Pizza Show (OrlandoPizzaShow.com) on September 11 to 13. The three categories are Largest Dough Stretch, Fastest Pizza Maker and Freestyle Acrobatics. The first place winner of each category wins $500 and a spot on the U.S. Pizza Team. The scores for all three events are combined; the person with the highest score in all categories will win a trip to Europe to compete in the 2009 International Pizza Championship with the team.

According to a press release, The US Pizza Team, a group of pizza owners who take their passion for pizza to the next level, traveled to compete in the annual World Pizza Championship, which was held in Italy this past April.

United States Pizza Team to Shine at World Pizza Championship in Italy

This Thursday, the 2009 U.S. Pizza Team, sponsored by PMQ Pizza Magazine is heading to Salsomaggiore, Italy, for the 18th annual World Pizza Championship. Team members will compete in the largest dough stretch, fastest pizza maker, free-style dough-tossing and culinary competitions. Over 30 countries will be represented at this year’s Championship with countries such as Japan, France, Canada, and China battling the United States for the title.

Come and see how New Yorkers cook, eat, drink, and live at this year’s annual “Tastings New York City.†The showcase will kick off on Friday, November 7th, at 10am, at Pier 94 in Manhattan, and is a fun way to welcome the season of holiday dining and entertaining.
