Casey’s is introducing the new Pickle Wrap Pizza, inspired by the c-store chain’s popular Pickle Wrap, just in time for National Pickle Day (November 14).

Available at select locations in Minnesota and Iowa, the Pickle Wrap Pizza features whipped cream cheese, chopped ham, smoky bacon, mozzarella, cheddar, and thick-cut pickles. Customers can choose either original or thin crust for their order.

The Pickle Wrap Pizza will be available as a large pizza for $17.99 at participating locations in northern Iowa and Minnesota from November 6 through December 3.

The concept was created by Casey’s district manager and Minnesota native Andrew Cairl and was a finalist in Casey’s annual pizza competition earlier this year. Pickles on pizza might spark differing opinions, but this variation offers a unique take on a familiar Midwest favorite, the company said.

“If you’re from the Midwest, then you know the ham-and-pickle roll-up,” Cairl said. “We’ve turned that traditional tailgate or potluck appetizer into a Casey’s pizza. The dill pickle stands out, and while this pizza will appeal to pickle fans, its uniqueness can even pull people out of their comfort zones for a delicious Pickle Wrap Pizza surprise.”

The chain published a Q&A to dig deeper into Cairl and his inspiration for the new pizza.
