The Arkansas Razorbacks have lost nine straight games to SEC West rival Alabama. Maybe this year will be different, and maybe an offer of free pizza to Arkansas fans can change the Hogs’ luck.

That’s what Rolf Wilkin, owner of Eureka Pizza in Fayetteville, is hoping. He recently announced that he will give away 1,000 free pies to Arkansas students, faculty and staff members if the Razorbacks beat the No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide this Saturday. He made the pledge during a radio interview on ESPN 95.5.

“We have been so, so close the past two years,” Wilkin told the show’s host, John Nabors. “I know in my heart we’ll win on Saturday, so I want to do something special for the students—the best students in the country. That’s why, after we win, we’ll give away, absolutely free, one thousand large pepperoni, sausage or cheese pizzas to university students, faculty and staff.”

He also said he’d give away free pizza for a year to the Arkansas student who creates the best “sad Nick Saban” meme.

Even if the Razorbacks fail to pull out a victory, the announcement alone was a big win for Eureka Pizza, scoring headlines on news websites all around the Fayetteville area and beyond. “My accountant thinks I am crazy,” Wilkin said. “I like to say I’m a football maniac. Win or lose, I will always love and support my team.”
