Thomas N. Fat, President of Fat City, Inc., Dies at 66

Sacramento, Calif. – Today the California Restaurant Association (CRA) mourns the passing of a long time member and industry leader. Thomas N. Fat, son of the late Frank Fat and a past president of the CRA’s San Diego Chapter, was a dedicated second-generation restaurateur.

“Our industry has suffered a great loss in the passing of Tom Fat,” said CRA President and CEO Jot Condie. “He was a true leader, overcoming much adversity and continuing to lead a successful family-run enterprise. Tom carried on the tradition and legendary hospitality that his father made famous in his family’s operations. He will be greatly missed.”

Tom Fat was president of Fat City Inc., a family company that owns and operates restaurants in San Diego and Sacramento. He was also a general partner in Frank Fat Properties, a private real estate development company. Tom was a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau and was involved in several other civic boards of directors.
