Fifth California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Opens in the Philippines
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–A fifth California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) (NASDAQ:CPKI), home of the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened in the Philippines today. The new restaurant, opened by CPK franchise partner Global Restaurant Concepts Inc., is located in the Rockwell Center in Makati City.
The new 2,400 square-foot CPK seats approximately 130 people and is located on the second floor of the Rockwell Powerplant Mall, an upscale mall which hosts a wide array of both local and imported stores, near the Archeology Wing, where up-and-coming Filipino designers are given the chance to showcase their new collections. Tastefully decorated with warm colors and rich textures, the restaurant will open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The open-exhibition kitchen takes center stage where guests can watch as all of California Pizza Kitchen’s innovative dishes are prepared. The menu will feature all of the popular favorites, including the Thai Chicken Pizza, Jamaican Jerk Pizza, BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and Shanghai Garlic Noodles. Several new menu items will also be available including the Cabo Crab Cakes, a new appetizer made with blue crab, pan-sautéed and served with roasted corn and black bean salsa and roasted pepper aioli; Miso Salad, a fresh new salad made with blue crab and shrimp or chicken along with shredded Napa cabbage, fresh avocado, julienne cucumbers, daikon, edemame, carrots, green onions, cilantro, crispy rice noodles and crispy wontons, tossed in a Miso dressing; Blue Crab Cakes, a new specialty item made with blue crab, pan-sautéed and served with fresh grilled asparagus and spaghettini in a creamy lemon-caper sauce and the Italian Tomato & Basil Pizza with imported Italian tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and CPK’s tomato sauce topped with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.
A special menu is also available for children 12 and under.
Using only the highest quality fresh produce and U.S. imported ingredients prepared daily, all California Pizza Kitchen pizzas are hearth-baked in an imported open-flame pizza oven.
