The original location of Buddy's Pizza, which opened in 1946, was just listed for sale at a price of $1.5 million, according to Detroit Metro Times.

Not to fear, the iconic pizzeria that introduced America to Detroit-style pizza is not closing. The brand is actually looking to expand nationally, according to the story.

The building will be sold and then leased back to Buddy's in order to raise the capital they need to expand the brand across the country.

According to the article, Buddy's is partnering with New York-based investment firm CapitalSpring to grow the brand.
