“A Year in the Life”

Sussex, WI – September 1, 2007 – A local man’s dreams keep growing.  Local resident, Tony Lippold celebrates the first anniversary of his pizzeria, Tony Maronni’s on September 5th.  The inspiration for Tony Maronni’s came from Lippold’s food service experience and listening to people.  “People just want a pizza a cut above the rest and I have been able to pair our family’s recipes along with contemporary gourmet foods to offer such a product.”  Lippold, a certified chef of 26 years, personally operates the pizzeria along with his wife and son.  Presently he employs 7 other persons.  The pizzeria blends family heritage like their cracker crust recipe with the 30 fresh toppings and classic homemade desserts like Tiramisu.

As a way to honor the victims and heroes of 9/11 and preserve the spirit of unity and compassion that existed in the nation following the terrorist attacks, Lippold decided to use his anniversary as a means to give to the Milwaukee-Waukesha area.  During his anniversary month Lippold will donate $1 of every pizza sale to the Sussex Fire Company.

Lippold’s interest in pizza and community has helped him find some innovative ways to not only advertise but befriend area residents. Lippold sends 1,500 letters monthly to residents personally inviting them to his pizzeria. Lippold stated “The people of Sussex have been so accepting of the Tony Maronni’s Take & Bake concept, now to meet customer demand I’ve added an oven, carry-out and delivery service.”  Past President of the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, Scott Pietila asserts, “My job takes me across the country and with pizza being one of my favorite foods, I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy quite a few.  Your pizza is clearly the best I’ve ever had!”

Future plans include the opening of 3 additional locations within the next year, all manned by Lippold’s family.   See www.TonyMaronni.com  to view the extensive menu & follow the growth of Tony Maronni’s.
