Started in August of 2005 by native Brooklynite Tony Muia, “A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Tour” has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, The Travel Channel and the Food Network as well as in the pages of the New York Times, the London Times, Frommer’s NYC Guide and Lonely Planet.

The tour starts by picking passengers up in  Manhattan. From there, it stops at two of Brooklyn’s most famous pizzerias: Grimaldi’s under the Brooklyn Bridge in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn for their award winning Neapolitan style pizza and L&B Spumoni Gardens in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn for their legendary Sicilian style pizza. In between, passengers are treated to the history and culture of such neighborhoods as Sunset Park, Red Hook, Bay Ridge, Bath Beach, Brighton Beach and even the celebrated Coney Island boardwalk. The tour also includes famous Brooklyn movie locations from such movies as Scent of a Woman, Once Upon a Time in America, Saturday Night Fever, Goodfellas, The French Connection and more.

  

And yet, for many people, that’s not even the best part of the tour says Muia. “People love the fact that they get treated like VIPs as they go right past the infamous line at Grimaldi’s. For many of them, as you can see from their reviews on Tripadvisor, that’s worth the price of the tour alone!”
