Pizza has gotten a bad rap as food for school kids lately, but an Ohio pizzeria used America's favorite food to raise money for kids with autism.

WFMJ.com reports more than 1,000 people showed up for a fundraiser at Mr. Anthony's pizzeria in Boardman, Ohio. The restaurant hosted its annual pizza cook-off fundraiser to help children with autism from preschool through high school.The sixth annual event saw almost a dozen different pizzerias showcasing their prized pizzas to help raise money for the school. Officials with the school say the tickets for the cook-off, which sold for $15, sold out in 11 days.
