Does size matter? If you're going for a Guinness World Record and you've got 18 hours to wait around for the payoff, length means everything.  In this case, the tasty record-setter was the world's largest pizza–a nearly mile-long (5,234 feet) margherita pie baked for 18 hours at the Milan, Italy's world's fair, Expo 2015.

According to Foxnews.com, the mother ship of all pizzas was a labor of love for more than 60 of Italy's best pizza-makers who worked through the night June 20. The result earned official certification that day by Guinness' World Records judge that the cheesy behemoth was indeed the world's longest pizza. Expo organizers said the margherita miler, celebrating the 126th birthday of Italy's classic favorite, was constructed with  1.7 tons of flour, 1.5 tons of mozzarella, 2 tons of tomato sauce, 5 whole onions and an unknowable supply of olive oil, weighing in at about 5 tons total. The record-breaker topped the previous champ, a 1141.5-meter pizza made in Spain.

How do you eat a mile-long pizza? Fairgoers at the Milan Expo grabbed a free rectangular slice from one of the 800 tables pushed together to support the pride of Italian pizzaioli.
