It's always heartwarming when a long-time employee gets to take the reins of a popular restaurant. That's exactly what Doug Piper has done as the new owner of Piper's Mighty Good Pizza in Harbor Springs, formerly known as Randy's Mighty Good Pizza.
According to petoskeynews.com's Emily Padgett, Piper is hardly new to the business. Customers stopping by to pick up an order in the last 12 years have often been met by Piper's greeting when stepping through the door.
Piper plans to stick to the homemade, fresh-ingredient tradition that he learned during his past 30 years in the business. He says he doesn't believe in changing what works.
