Grab a pizza from a cop. That's the idea behind La Vista's Pizza With Police event Feb. 18.
Omaha, Nebraska's WOWT.com reports the La Vista Police Department will take the motto "To Serve and Protect" to a whole new level when they take orders from patrons at Mama's Pizza. The department is hosting this activity for the first time to bring the community to a relaxed environment in order to talk with officers.It will take place at Mama's Pizza Feb. 18 near South 96th Street and Giles Road from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Mama's Pizza owner Jeff Harwood said he's also donating 10 percent of the proceeds to Cops and Kids, an annual event where La Vista police go shopping for Christmas gifts with underprivileged youth. Mama's will also debut their Lenten menu, including a new mac and cheese pizza.
