Massey’s Pizza, which hails itself as the pioneer in “Columbus-style pizza,” is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a significant nationwide franchise sales push.

Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Massey’s Pizza is known for what it calls “The Cadillac of Pizza,” a pie topped with 155 pieces of pepperoni.

The brand, which currently has 15 locations, said it’s strategically expanding locally in Columbus and in key Ohio markets such as Dayton, Cincinnati and Cleveland and across the U.S. According to a press release, Massey’s Pizza has seen positive growth for 15 straight years.

“We have a very cult-like following in our area, and this is due to the quality of the products we use throughout our menu and the amount of toppings we put on each pizza,” Dominic Pallone, Massey’s chief operating officer, said. “We have created a very unique product compared to our competitors. Our generous toppings and signature tavern-style cut have set us apart in the industry. Massey’s was the first company to bring this type of pizza to the area.”

Massey’s Pizza also uses a distinct cornmeal crust and a specialty oven in each store.

Massey’s franchise opportunities are “designed to provide scalability, proven systems, well-established branding, and expert guidance,” the company said. “In terms of easier entry options, franchisees can choose to either build a new store from the ground up or purchase an already operating location complete with staff. Amongst the many support elements for the pizza franchise, franchise buyers get lease negotiation assistance, expert advice from the Massey’s team throughout both the build-out phase and daily operations, comprehensive training, and other ongoing resources.”

“We help with scouting locations, working with contractors, and really just walk alongside them through the entire opening process,” Pallone added.
