Dallas-based Pizza Inn, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2028, says it’s ushering in a new era in Mesquite, Texas, with its modernized restaurant, marking a “bold step forward for the brand’s next chapter of growth.”

The restaurant will celebrate with a weekend-long party to welcome local families and longtime fans through the doors of what the company terms “a reimagined experience.” Festivities begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, followed by community-focused celebrations throughout the weekend.

The Mesquite store first opened in 1966 and has been a neighborhood fixture ever since. Now it boasts a thoughtfully redesigned space, featuring expanded seating, an enhanced back-fed buffet for improved flow and freshness, and a brighter, more contemporary dining environment designed for today’s families.

The Mesquite location is owned and operated by the Hemani family, who have invested in the remodel as part of Pizza Inn’s broader effort to drive systemwide modernization, while elevating the guest experience and staying true to the brand’s heritage.

“Our family has been part of this community for years, and being able to reinvest in this restaurant in a way that honors its history while elevating the experience for today’s guests is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Ali Hemani. “We want families who grew up coming here to feel at home again, and we are excited for them to experience the improvements in comfort, quality and atmosphere that Pizza Inn has today.”

While the brand’s franchise partners include individual owners, franchising groups, and partners, Pizza Inn’s transformation in Mesquite “reflects its renewed focus on purposeful reinvestment, operational enhancements and empowering family-owned franchisees to grow with confidence across the system,” according to a press release.

“The DFW area is more than just a home base for us; it’s where Pizza Inn first started,” said Brandon Solano, CEO of Pizza Inn. “Our responsibility is not only to honor our legacy, but to continue evolving it. Seeing a family-owned restaurant like Mesquite transform and reinvest in its community demonstrates how Pizza Inn is building momentum for the future while staying deeply rooted in the neighborhoods that made us who we are.”
