7-Eleven, the largest c-store chain in the country, is rolling out a new $5 Pizza Meal Deal starting October 30, offering two larger pizza slices and a 20 oz. Coke or Sprite at participating stores. Alongside this, the chain is launching a Philly Cheesesteak pizza, blending premium ingredients like thinly sliced beef, melted provolone and caramelized peppers.
According to a press release issued by 7-Eleven, customers can also enjoy these deals via 7NOW Delivery, the chain’s first-party delivery program that promises round-the-clock service in under 30 minutes.
“Our $5 Pizza Meal Deal offers an unbeatable value that is designed to bring family and friends together over fresh pizza and celebrate the diverse flavors our customers love—because every slice tells a story,” said Deanna Hall, senior product director of fresh foods at 7-Eleven. “With the introduction of our Philly Cheesesteak pizza, customers have even more options to share great moments and enjoy their favorite flavors without compromise, one slice at a time.”
Related: Why Gas Station Pizza is Your Next Big Competitor
The growing popularity of gas station pizza reflects a changing competitive landscape that pizzeria operators can’t ignore. Chains like 7-Eleven and Casey’s are evolving their pizza offerings with creative toppings, loyalty programs and delivery options. Casey’s even brands itself as a pizza-and-beer destination, showing that convenience stores are not just satisfying a need for quick snacks—they’re becoming real players in the pizza market.
This trend challenges independent pizzerias to rethink their strategies. Customers are increasingly drawn to grab-and-go options with high value and quality, putting traditional pizzerias in competition with convenience stores. By adapting to these shifts, independent pizzerias have the opportunity to differentiate themselves, leveraging their own strengths—such as superior craftsmanship and personalized service—while learning from the convenience-first strategies of competitors like 7-Eleven.
