Absence and Lateness Policy
From time to time it may be necessary for you to be absent from work. _______________ is aware that emergencies. Illnesses or pressing personal business that cannot be scheduled outside of your work hours may arise.
If you are unable to report to work, or will arrive late, please contact your manager immediately. Give him or her as much time as possible to arrange for someone else to cover your position until you arrive. If you know you are going to be absent, you are required to request this time off directly from your manager. He or she will determine when will be the most suitable time for you to be absent from work.
When you call in to inform _____________ of an unexpected absence or late arrival, ask for the manager directly. For late arrivals, please indicate when you expect to arrive for work. Notifying a fellow-employee is not sufficient. If you are unable to call in foe an illness, emergency or for some other reason, be sure to have someone else call in ion your behalf. If your manager is not available when you call, call ________ at ( ____-____-______ ).
Absence from work for three (3) consecutive days without notifying your manager will be considered a voluntary resignation.
Attendance
You are required to be at your workstation and ready for work at the beginning of your shift, at that time you will be assigned a primary workstation. Since pizzerias are in flux most of the time you may need to backfill another position until the rush is over. If duties take you away from your primary workstation, please let you manager know.
Excessive Absenteeism or Lateness
In general, five (5) absences in a 90-day period, or a consistent pattern of absence, will be considered excessive, and the reason for the absences may come under question. Tardiness or leaving early is as detrimental to ____________ as an absence. Three such incidents in a 90-day period will be considered a tardiness pattern and will carry the same weight as an absence. Other factors, like degree of lateness, may be considered. Be aware that excessive time off could lead to disciplinary action.
