2006: A Good Year for Pizza

This year will be a good year for pizza according to industry analyst Ed Zimmerman of SuccessFoods Marketing. He explains why in his 2006 predictions featured on page 26. There are no reasons why 2006 can't be your best year yet if you use the information Ed provides in this informative article. You can make it happen by scrutinizing your P and L's and reassessing your business opportunities right now. In addition to Ed's pizza predictions, be sure to read about tax changes in the Mike Rasmussen, CPA, article on page 16.

PMQ ADVERTISERS

PMQ Adds Two More Issues and Adds Culinary Editor

PMQ will try to help you achieve your business goals this year by publishing an extra two issues with insight and focus on practical pizza profitability. With the extra issues during the year, we'd like to do something we've always wanted to do but never had the room: add the staff position of a culinary and technical editor. It gives us great pleasure to introduce Evelyne Slomon as our new Culinary and Technical Editor. When Peter Reinhart or Ed Levine writes a book on pizza, with whom do they consult? When someone wants to know the "real deal" about the "real meal" no one is more qualified than the art historian-turned-culinary chef-turned-pizza historian, Evelyne Slomon. Look for a new kind of culinary insight during 2006 with PMQ practical applications beginning with her first story for PMQ on page 46.

Pizza Pages Issue

Here it is! The issue you been waiting for all year. The official 2006 PMQ Pizza Pages. All the pizza product and vendor information you'll need is in this issue. The Pizza Pages are also online and are continuously updated with new website and contact information. Visit www.thepizzapages.com or grab a link from www.pmq.com.

New York Pizza Show Does it Again

PMQ's New York Pizza Show had an unusually strong showing of support, despite the best efforts of our respected competition. Over 1,700 pizza professionals turned out for the two-day event and PMQ's public relations efforts went a long way to establish PMQ as the trade show leader in New York for the second year in a row. Over $1 million in national publicity was generated through Martha Stewart, Cold Pizza, National Public Radio and over 200 media stories nationwide. See page 32. Now that our competition has announced they will not be returning to New York City next year, PMQ will work even harder to build the industry marketplace we need to reach those in the independently rich Northeast. We hope you'll be part of the fun this year. For exhibitor and attendee information contact Nadia Ahmed at PMQ 662-234-5481 x136.
