Do you own a POS system? If so, what would you say is the most valuable feature/function of it?
Jeff Arneson - We use POS Pizza; a user friendly pos software under $500. An Epson U220 receipt printer and a Dymo Labelwriter 400 box label printer team up with this software. I really like many of its features, but one that my drivers appreciate is the fast end of night reconciliation.
Lynn Anderson - I have a POS system. The most valuable feature for me is the easy access to customer information and the database, which I use for direct mail.
Dennis McQuinn - No, not yet,  but we are looking at getting one mainly for marketing and order accuracy.

What are your opinions and store policies about employees with tattoos or piercings?
Jeff Arneson - My employees are my ambassadors, so I am looking for good ones who represent my business. Excessive piercing and tattoos, especially with my drivers would not work.
Lynn Anderson - Within reason on both. Not in excess or bad taste. Piercings cannot interfere with job performance. A lot of our business is on the phone with customers and being able to speak clearly is essential.
Dennis McQuinn - No visible tattoos, no face piercings, no piercings in prep area and waitresses can only wear studs.

Has the IRS ever audited your business? If yes, what advice can you offer from the experience?
Jeff Arneson - We opened in June of 2004.  We use Quickbooks Pro with the help of a very good bookkeeper and the Quickbooks payroll update service. We have not been audited to date.
Lynn Anderson - We have not been audited as of yet.
Dennis McQuinn - No not yet, but you don’t want to get behind in payroll taxes. Simple and sweet, use a payroll service.

What one or two things do you absolutely not tolerate and can cause an employee to be fired on the spot? How?
Jeff Arneson - We can tolerate honest mistakes with our employees; but dishonesty is grounds for immediate termination.
Lynn Anderson - Stealing or rudeness to customers.
Dennis McQuinn - Total rudeness to customers will get an employee fired immediately; the customer pays my bills and with insubordination, I pay their bills.
