The International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) is set to return in September 2022, with its show floor already 80 percent sold and the remaining space expected to fill up quickly, organizers said in a press release.

The 2022 IBIE event will be held September 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. It will be the first one since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The triennial event provides a forum for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their solutions to thousands of baking professionals, debut their innovations and make connections across all segments of the grain-based foods industry.

The 2019 IBIE event set a record, with the exhibit hall sold out completely despite a 10 percent increase in show floor space. It featured nearly 1,000 exhibitors and seven million pounds of technology, equipment and supplies spread across 430,850 net square feet. The expo earned awards from Trade Show Executive magazine as one of the United States Gold 100 and weighed in at No. 26 on the Trade Show News Network’s Top 100 list.

“Our industry has faced many new challenges since the last Baking Expo, including supply chain issues and ingredient shortages related to the coronavirus crisis,” said IBIE Chair Dennis Gunnell. “We’re hearing from attendees, suppliers and manufacturers who are ready to reconnect, to share how they’ve navigated common issues and to get back to doing business in person. There is a real need for collaboration and problem-solving that can only be accomplished face-to-face. We’re excited to provide an opportunity for our community to engage in that discovery and relationship-building after such a transformative time.”
