To incentivize his employees, Evan Kuo, CEO of San Francisco startup Pythagoras Pizza, has a plan to create his own digital currency linked to the valuation of his company. For every pizza baked and delivered, chefs and drivers would earn “fragments,” and the better the company performs, the more each fragment will be worth. It was no secret that the rapper meant to sell more swag than pizza, but the gimmick resulted in loads of PR for Delicious Pizza, scoring coverage in Billboard, LA Magazine, Food & Wine and others.
