Pizza Hut tests "Skinny Slice" pizza
New healthy low calorie pizza has thinner crust and lighter cheese
According to USA Today, Domino's, the pizza giant is actually testing two so-called "Skinny Slice" pizzas in a total 47 restaurants in two different test markets: Toledo, Ohio and West Palm Beach, Fl.
"But these are not new pizzas made from pie-in-the-sky recipes," USA Today said. "Rather, they are made with the same ingredients as conventional Pizza Hut pizzas, except the crust is a tad thinner and the cheese and toppings a bit lighter. The numbers tell the tale: while a slice of regular, hand-tossed cheese pizza at Pizza Hut is about 290 calories, a Skinny Slice is about 210 calories. That's about a 30% calorie difference. Despite the name, Skinny Slice, the pizza is not sold by the slice.
