The world's No. 2 tennis player doubles as a pizza chef—at least when he's in Shanghai. ATPworldtour.com says Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer, who lost Oct. 13 defending his title in the Shanghai Rolex Masters to Spanish qualifier Albert Ramos-Vinolas, was more successful in his pizza making. As last year's Shanghai champ, he was tasked with serving up an original pizza offered in the players' restaurant during this year’s tournament Oct. 11-18. Federer said he found the process “exciting,” adding, “Because a lot of pizzas were taken, the classic ones, I came up with one that I like—figs, arugula salad, prosciutto and creme fraiche, with extra mozzarella if you like.” The 34-year-old tennis legend and father of four called his pizza the "Figalicious."

The first Hungry Howie’s in Houston is trying to match its Detroit mothership in breast cancer research donations. KPRC Channel 2 in Houston recently aired an interview with Hungry Howie’s franchisee Roscoe Overton in which Overton said his company will donate a portion of all proceeds in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Hungry Howie’s calls it the Love, Hope & Pizza Campaign. Over the last seven years, the chain, which originated in Detroit, has raised $1.7 million for breast cancer research and awareness. "We've all been touched by breast cancer, and I personally have friends who battled the disease,” Overton says. In addition to food-based donations, patrons can purchase pink breast cancer awareness wrist bands and T-shirts at the restaurant.
