Pie Five ‘Pies It Forward’ For National Pizza Month

Leading fast-casual pizza chain dishes out goodwill, free pizzas at restaurants nationwide during the month of October

Doesn’t it make your day when the person ahead of you in the drive-thru line pays for your coffee? Or when someone kindly holds the door open for you and you oblige by doing the same for the person behind you?


The truth is, the simplest of gestures can momentarily transform our outlook on life and serve as a reminder that kindness is contagious and should always be reciprocated.


Pie Five Pizza understands the value of paying it forward. That’s why, in honor of National Pizza Month, the leading fast-casual pizza brand is kicking off its nationwide “Pie It Forward” campaign. The movement is Pie Five’s way of serving up smiles, one free pizza at a time.


Every day in October, one lucky guest at each Pie Five restaurant will be surprised with a free pizza upon checking out. With the shake of a snappy hand-clapper, the manager will announce the winner in celebratory fashion, pay for their pizza and present them with a Pie It Forward card.


Each Pie It Forward card is good for one free pizza and encourages the guest to “Pie It Forward” by giving it to a deserving co-worker, or sharing it with a friend who had a bad day or surprising a random stranger, thus sparking a domino effect of generosity. (The card may be used for dine-in or to-go orders.)


“When our guests step through our doors, they catch only a glimpse of what we see from behind the counter on a daily basis. Our ‘Pie It Forward’ campaign was actually inspired by the many random acts of kindness that take place in our restaurants every day,” said Christina Coy, director of marketing for Pie Five Pizza. “We wanted to do something special for National Pizza Month this year, and this seemed like the perfect way to reward our guests while brightening up their days.”


Guests are also encouraged to share their Pie It Forward stories on social media using the hashtag #pieitforward. In the spirit of the campaign, Pie Five will select random posts throughout the month and reward the individuals with a Pie It Forward card and Pie Five swag.


At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of handcrafted pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on one of four crusts all for one low price.  The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas in stylish environments without the wait.
