Vegetarians get the royal treatment today at UK pizza chain Franco Manca, thanks to a unique promo celebrating National Vegetarian Week.
Pizza fans in the UK can turn raw vegetables into a vegetarian pie without ever setting foot in the kitchen today.
UK pizza chain Franco Manca, with more than 35 locations in England, is celebrating National Vegetarian Week by letting customers trade any raw veggies they’ve got on hand for a free vegetarian pizza. All vegetables will be donated to The People’s Fridge, a nonprofit organization that will then distribute the produce to local food banks and charities.
The promotion will also shine a spotlight on Franco Manca’s popular sourdough vegetarian pie made with sun-dried San Marzano tomatoes, baked potatoes, onions, pesto, wild garlic and mozzarella. Franco Manca also launched a new veggie pie featuring seasonal courgettes, basil, mozzarella, buffalo ricotta and wild caper berries from Salina, Italy.
