Long Beach Pizza Shop Awards Free Dinner to One Lucky Table Every Night

The media-friendly promo celebrates the 13th anniversary of Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria.

At Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria this month, every table receives its check in a sealed envelope, with one winning table getting the entire meal comped as part of an anniversary celebration.

A pizzeria in Long Beach, California, has been treating one lucky table to dinner every night this month in celebration of its 13th anniversary. The promotion even earned coverage for Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria in the local Long Beach Post newspaper.

As part of the promotion, every table receives its check in a sealed envelope—inscribed with the tagline “Feeling Lucky?”—at the end of the meal. Guests open the envelope to find out if they’re the winners. Other freebies may also be included in the envelopes.

According to Buono’s, each table has a one in 25 chance of winning the free meal, and the size of your party doesn’t matter. “We were looking for a unique way to celebrate our ‘Lucky 13th’ anniversary and to say thank you to the Long Beach community at the same time,” owner Frank Buono said, in a press statement. “Giving our loyal and new guests an opportunity to win dinner on us every night in March was a fun way to do it.”

The Long Beach Post says winners are encouraged to share photos of their evening on social media using the #BuonosLucky13 hashtag.
