For a brief period in the 1970s, pizza-making was dangerous work at Little Italy Pizzeria in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Bombs exploded in the shop on three different occasions between December 1974 and October 1975, sparking rumors that the mob was targeting the restaurant. FBI investigations never established a Mafia connection, however, and the bombings remain unsolved to this day. But Rocky Citrino, current owner of the shop (now called Little Italy Pourhouse), isn’t too worried: To capitalize on the notoriety, Citrino recently posted a sign outside the building that reads, “Explosion-Free Since ’83.”
