International Pizza Expo, Pizza Today magazine sold

California-based Emerald Expositions LLC acquires pizza-related businesses

Big deals are in the news in the NFL -- and the pizza industry.

Louisville Business First reports Emerald Expositions LLC has acquired both the International Pizza Expo, a trade show for pizza professionals, and Pizza Today magazine, which focuses on the pizzeria industry.

The California-based Emerald Expositions bought the expo and its partner magazine from Macfadden Communications Group, and the financial details of the deal weren't disclosed, The Courier-Journal reports. The expo is held each year in Las Vegas, and it's one of the top 200 largest trade shows in the U.S., the company said. This year's show is set for March 23-26. The magazine and the expo are based in Louisville.
