On July 10, a natural gas explosion leveled the Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, location of Glass Nickel Pizza and resulted in a firefighter losing his life.

Owner Adam Bougie has told the Sun Prairie Star that he is motivated to rebuild the restaurant that he opened 14 years ago and help his employees.

Bougie told the Sun Prairie Star that his main focus is his 25-30 employees and the people living above the pizzeria.

Since the incident, a relief fund has been set up at the local bank to benefit the businesses and families impacted by the explosion, and a fundraiser took place on July 16 to help raise additional funds. On July 18, 10% of all Glass Nickel location sales will help in relief efforts.
