Minnesota winters are cold but the owner of Charlies pizza restaurant in Little Falls wants to make sure residents aren't hungry.

KSTP.com, the local ABC affiliate, reports  for the third straight year, the pizza place will open its doors Christmas day and serve hundreds of people for free. Manager Mitch Beattie planned to feed 400 to 500 people on Christmas Eve.

The tradition was inspired by the death of the owner Charlie Peterka's  daughter.
