Rosa's Pizzeria Introduces Local School Kids to Brand Through Box Design Contest

Students in Prescott Unified School District will submit designs for a new pizza box.

Rosa’s Pizzeria in Prescott, Arizona, has introduced thousands of school-age children to its brand through a pizza box design contest in coordination with the Prescott Unified School District (PUSD), according to the Daily Courier.

In a promotion jointly announced by Rosa’s and the PUSD, students from all grades have been invited to create and enter artwork submissions for the contest. Each school selects a winning design, and all the finalist entries will be displayed at Rosa’s from April 29 through May 16. Guests can vote for their overall favorite by visiting the restaurant and casting a ballot. The entry with the most votes will claim the top prize.

The contest will also tie in with Rosa’s twice-weekly school fundraiser nights, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, throughout the period of the contest. Individual schools receive 10 percent of the sales from those nights.

The name of the student and her school will appear on Rosa’s 16-inch boxes—the restaurant’s most popular pizza size—for about a year. The school with the winning entry also will receive a grand prize with a value of $6,000; the school’s principal gets to decide what the prize will be depending on the school’s needs.

“We wanted to find a way to give back to our community, and the schools are one of the central pieces of our community,” Danny Coughlin, Rosa’s general manager, said in a press release. “We also wanted to find a way to create a little excitement while giving back, and we think this contest does that. We can’t wait to see the designs the kids come up with for our pizza box.”

Joe Howard, the PUSD superintendent, said the project “reminds me of why I love Prescott. Our community supports our kids like no other, and this partnership with Rosa’s will be one to enjoy, celebrate and remember for years to come. I can’t wait to see our students’ work on my next Rosa’s Mediterraneo Pizza.”
