After dominating for four years, Pizza Hut fell to No. 3 in The Harris Poll’s Equitrend Study of brand health, and Papa John’s has taken its place as the 2017 Pizza Brand of the Year. Blaze Pizza was No. 2, and Marco’s Pizza came in at No. 4. Papa John’s performance was a comeback; after winning the No. 1 spot in 2012, the chain “experienced a significant decline the following year in quality perceptions,” a Harris Poll exec told PMQ. “It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what drove the increase, but we can say Papa John’s performed better than Pizza Hut in emotional connection and fit.”

Behold, the World’s First 101-Cheese Pizza!

Characters in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie said it was “a culinary impossibility.” But not only is there now a 99-cheese pizza (made in Australia in 2014), Scottie’s Pizza Parlor in Portland, Oregon, recently baked the world’s first 100-cheese pizza (the Cento Formaggio) and then beat that with a 101-cheese pie (the Centouno Formaggio).
