In recent years, despite heavy competition in the pizza industry, Domino's has continued to surge. This may be due to the increased emphasis on a simplified menu and customer-friendly on-line execution.

The Detroit Free Press reports instead of adding products like McDonald's, which has faltered as its menu became bloated, Domino's–the nation's No. 2 pizza maker–has reduced its reliance on temporary products. A spokesman says sales at U.S. stores opened at least a year rose 14% in the first quarter, compared to a year earlier. The strong performance comes amid a saturated market for fast-food and pizza makers, suggesting that Domino's is swiping market share away from entrenched players.
